Oral Sex

Shortened Question:

Are partners allowed to lick each other’s private parts?

Question:

Is it Permissible for us to lick each other’s private parts during sexual intercourse with my partner?

If no please explain, why.

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Human being by nature were created with strong carnal desires. These desires should be fulfilled in a dignified manner.

Shariah strongly emphasizes on shame and modesty. Fulfilling sexual desires according to Shariah is rewarded by Almighty Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala. One may also be gifted with legitimate children from this action.

One should practice deeds that will gain the pleasure of Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala. Good deeds lead you to Jannah and obscenity leads you away from Jannah.
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi wa Salam says to go ahead and do as you pleaseif you do not have any shame.[1]

When sexually aroused the body discharges impure fluid. There is a strong possibility that this impure fluid will enter the mouth of your partner if oral sex is practiced. This is amongst the reasons why the Fuqaha have ruled that oral sex is Makruh Tahrimi (reprehensible).

The mouth is a part of the body which is used for the recitation of the Quran and zikrullah and to hymn the praises of Almighty Allah Subhana wa Ta’Ala. It is disliked that it should be used to consume any form of impurity.

Oral sex is prohibited under all circumstances and in any form, whether it is with the back or the front private parts.
