Question:

Is it prohibited for Muslim women to wear Laccha (gold ornament of black balls) as non-Muslim women do? It is worn by non-Muslim women after marriage for good and lasting relationship with their husbands. Can it be worn by a Muslim just for style?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is our belief that all good and bad is ultimately with the will of Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala.

If it is a custom to wear the  Laccha with the belief that the Laccha has a direct impact on a good marriage, then it is prohibited to wear the Laccha even though one may not have the same belief as those who wear the Laccha with the wrong belief.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Salam) said that person who imitates a nation is from among them.[1]
